Well Person Health Screens

Our comprehensive Well Person Health Screens are designed to provide you with a thorough assessment of your overall health and well-being. Our experienced healthcare professionals are dedicated to ensuring you receive personalised care and valuable insights into your health status.

Your health journey begins with a 20-minute consultation with our skilled Nurse/HCA. Next, you will have a 30-minute consultation with one of our experienced GPs. During this time your medical history, family history, and lifestyle choices will be discussed to gain a comprehensive understanding of your health profile.

Depending on your family history and your current health, our doctors may advise you to have additional tests such as an osteoporosis screen and bone profile, an allergy test, or a mammogram.

Our goal is to empower you to take charge of your health and well-being, making informed decisions for a healthier, happier life.

FAQs

The Well Persons Health Screen is a comprehensive preventive health check-up designed to assess your overall health and detect any potential health issues at an early stage.

The health screen includes a 30-minute consultation with a General Practitioner (GP) which includes a full examination and a discussion about your medical, social and family history, your health goals and any concerns you may have; for women who require HPV & cervical screening their GP consultation will be extended to include this.

Also included is a 20-minute consultation with a nurse or HCA, which involves measurements of height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, blood screen and urinalysis. There is a take-away stool sample for colon cancer screening which can be posted directly via Royal Mail to the laboratory.

From the 1st April 2024 the Well Person Health Screens will now include a FibroScan for men and a Trans-Vaginal Ultrasound for women, these appointments typically last 30 minutes.

Regular health screens can help detect potential health issues early on when they are most treatable. It allows healthcare professionals to provide personalised advice to improve your well-being and reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases.

The entire health screen process takes approximately between 60-90 minutes.

Fasting is not essential for your blood test, but you should fast for at least 3 hours before having a FibroScan®.

Most of the tests are non-invasive and painless. Blood tests and physical examinations may cause minimal discomfort, but our healthcare professionals will ensure you are as comfortable as possible throughout the process.

Turnaround times may vary due to the complexity of specific tests. A member of staff will inform you of the expected timeframe during your health screen visit. Once your results have been received, a GP will be in contact to discuss them.

Wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access for physical examinations. Avoid wearing clothing with metal components near the chest area, as they can interfere with the ECG signals. Stay hydrated before the blood tests, as it can make it easier for the healthcare professional to draw blood. It is also helpful to bring any relevant medical history or records which we do not have access to.

If you have any other questions or concerns not addressed here, feel free to contact us. We look forward to helping you take proactive steps towards maintaining your health and well-being!
